Wesola Polana – A Gastronomic Gem in the Upper Methow Valley

Wesola Polana Restaurant in Methow Vallley

Wesola Polana is an Upper Methow Favorite

Wesola Polana has become a local favorite for breakfast, lunch and light dinners in the upper Methow Valley. Located next to the Rolling Huts on Highway 20 between Mazama and Winthrop, this European feeling gastube delivers high quality food, a casual environment, an interesting selection of Polish beers and a wide range of fabulous tapas.  The owner is Polish and the general manager is from Mexico but spent five  years in Spain.

Our latest meal was on a Friday night in October, they were serving a special for Oktoberfest – Bratwurst, Hot German Potato Salad and Homemade Sauerkraut – and it was delicious. We enjoyed several tapas including the Brandada ( a wonderful spread painstakingly made of salted cod) and a grilled Romain Heart salad – a must eat.

One of the favorite activities is to meet at Wesola Polana in the morning – have breakfast and ski a long loop while coming back for lunch. My wife and I like to park on the Goat Creek Road for the suspension bridge, ski to Wesola for lunch and a beer then ski back.

We highly recommend a visit to Wesola Polana when in the Methow Valley. The website – wesolapolana.com – has specials including the schedule for Paella (yes!),  more photos, history and the menu. When you go, say hi to Pablo for us 🙂
